Her initial training and employment was in Textile Design, working for several leading Melbourne companies before moving into self-employment. This led to some years working overseas in the Textiles field in London and Como Italy, including painting and exhibiting in landscapes, still-life and portraiture in oils.
Her training has included Graphic Design at RMIT, Life Drawing at Vic. Artist's Society, portraiture and still life in oils with Lee Machelak, watercolour landscape wirh Andrew Gemmell.
An enduring interest in fine detail and an off-chance attendance at a Botanical Art Exhibition in 1999, led to her beginning studies in Botanical Art at the Botanical Art School of Melbourne with Jenny Phillips and Fiona McKinnon. In 2004 she completed a Masterclass with Anne-Maree Evans from London and another with Jenny Phillips in 2005, and has attended a number of intensive workshops with both Jenny and Fiona McKinnon from the BASM.
