On behalf of the Margaret Flockton Award Committee of the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, I am writing to let you know of details for the upcoming Award and Exhibition in 2012.  

Illustrators are invited to submit one or two original scientific botanical illustrations in black and white by close of business Monday 6th Feb 2012.

Prize money

1st prize - $AUD5000

2nd prize - $AUD2000

plus three Highly Commended awards

will be presented upon the opening of the exhibition on Friday 30th March 2012

This unique Award is now in its ninth year. In 2011, 31 competing works were exhibited, produced by 20 artists from all around the world. For the first time we also featured a guest artist, Margaret Wilson (Menadue) from Perth, Western Australia, who contributed her outstanding illustrations selected from a lifetime of botanical work.
