Exploring Botanical Illustration in the Alps with Helen Burrows

Helen Burrows, whose botanical watercolour illustrations are represented in the Victorian National Herbarium collection and galleries throughout Australia and overseas will conduct a wonderful 3 day course exploring and illustrating Mt Buller’s unique alpine flora.  Helen has developed a comprehensive course schedule that will include guided nature walks around Mt Buller, talks on the alpine environment and field trips to explore the alpine flora in detail. This course is suitable participants of all levels of ability, from beginners to advanced, who wish to observe, explore and illustrate the plant world in the Alps.

This course provides a framework to foster artistic confidence with media, further develop technical skills and for those artists who need to review their practice; working in a caring, supportive environment and customised for the participants' needs and requirements. Activities are designed to encourage visual thinking and evaluate the botanical world through new perspectives, while nurturing a personal artistic style.
